September 06, 2010 06:09 Bills Make Some Moves The Buffalo Bills have signed tight end David Martin and claimed guard Kraig Urbik off waivers from the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Martin is an eight-year NFL veteran who was signed Sunday, a day after having his contract terminated by the Dolphins.
Martin missed last season with a knee injury after playing the previous two years with Miami. He spent his first six NFL seasons with Green Bay. He has 152 catches for 1,519 yards and 14 touchdowns in 101 games.
Urbik was inactive for all 16 games with the Steelers last season. He is a 2009 third-round draft pick
In making the moves, the Bills released tight end J.P. Foshci and defensive back Dominique Harris.

Pedro Alvarez accounted for the only offense with a homer for the Pirates. Charlie Morton lasted only 3 2/3 innings after giving up six runs on eight hits and two walks. He is 1-11.
The Blue Jays beat the Yankees 7-3, but New York maintains its 2 ½ game lead over Tampa Bay in the AL East after the Rays lost to Baltimore. Phil Hughes suffered the loss. He is 16-7. Alex Rodriguez was activated from the disabled list after missing time with a strained left calf. He went 2 for 5 with an RBI.
Seattle beat Cleveland 3-0. Jeanmar Gomez allowed seven hits and two runs over six innings. He is 3-3.
Ike Davis finished a triple shy of the cycle, drove in three runs, and scored three runs, as the New York Mets clobbered the Chicago Cubs 18-5 at Wrigley Field.
Ruben Tejada drove in five runs, and Angel Pagan added three RBI for the Mets, who had 21 hits. Jonathan Niese went six-plus innings allowing all five runs on eight hits. He also struck out four and walked three. He is 9-7.

The Lady Owls placed fifth out of 21 teams.

Nicole Teribery and Kate Visbisky got assists. Kayla Hayden had 5 saves in goal for the Lady Owls.
In the consoloation game, Salamanca beat Port Allegany 3-2.
